If they told me that being bald would require more work than having hair, I might have considered getting a hair transplant. Unfortunately that’s not how it worked out and I have to shave my entire head every other day.
I have moved between single blade razors and electric razors as they are quicker when I don’t fully have enough time to really shave. Here is a great guide on some of the best electric razors I’ve used for shaving my head.
In a Rush? Here Is Our Top Pick
1. Andis T-Liner
Now I understand that using a line-up trimmer isn’t the most obvious solution, but when it comes to electric razors there aren’t many options that can handle a close shave and cut through thicker coarse hair if you’ve let yours grow out. The idea dawned upon me one day when I was running late for a morning meeting and I hadn’t shave in about a week. I didn’t have enough time to do a full prep and shave that normally takes me about 15 or so minutes.
So I grabbed my Andis T- Liner and to my surprise, it gave me almost a good a shave as a traditional razor. The gapping had to be set correctly so as to not bite my skin, but as long as you have that set correctly, it shouldn’t be a problem. It literally cut the hair off my head like a hot knife through butter.
I was finished with my shave in about 3 minutes. I almost exclusively shave with the Andis T- Liner in the morning to cut down on my prep time
Why Use An Electric Razor For Your Head?
It cuts down on time
When I first started shaving my head 5 years ago, I would spend all the time in the world with hot towels and prep. I wanted to have that baby bottom smooth shave with enough shine on my head to blind people when the sun reflects off it. As time goes on, like many things in your life, you stop being obsessed about it and shaving my head started to become a chore.
I would go from shaving every day to every other day. Then every other day turned into once a week and I couldn’t have that because once a week is too long between shaving. I think using an electric razor to shave your head is a great option as it removes enough hair to make you look presentable, but you can generally get it done in under 5 minutes which cuts down valuable time from your morning routine.
If you make your morning routine easier, then you’re more likely to do it every day.
It cuts down on costs
If you’re used to just shaving your beard and neck line every other day or so to keep up general maintenance between barber visits or between your weekly shaving ritual, then you’re probably not going through razors like kids go through paper towels.
When you start shaving your head with a razor every other day, you start to truly appreciate the value of a sharp razor. I find myself having to replace my razor head every other shave in order to have a blade that’s usable and won’t irritate my skin or nick my hair.
Even with great cost saving companies like Dollar Shave Club, replacing a blade 3-4 times a week adds up to over 150+ blades a year. Even at $5 a pack, that’s well over $250 a year on just blades for shaving my head. It starts to make sense that an electric option is a better cost alternative.
The Best Electric Razors For Shaving Your Head In The Market
2. Panasonic Electric Trimmer
The only reason this didn’t make #1 on my list is because I can’t line up my beard and mustache with it the way I want to, but if you’re looking for an all around electric shaver for your head, this is a phenomenal option on the market. It works with a shaving cream and it can also work in the shower which is where it shines above a plug in option.
Adding shaving to your shower routine is where most bald men go after they develop the movements to shave their head without looking in the mirror. This lovely tool is great to have on charge and take with you in the shower so you can kill two birds with one stone.
It also works great if you’re a guy who shaves his chest or other large areas of your body.
3. Remington XR
These little pocket options are great electric razors to shave your head. They are very nimble and fit in the palm of your hand which makes for an extremely ergonomic way to shave your head. It almost feels as if you’re just rubbing your head with a massing tool and getting a shave in the process. I’ve never used the other attachments for trimming your beard, but I’m assuming that they probably work well. I can’t imagine Remington making a razor that doesn’t cut hair.
The Remington is a phenomenal option, affordable and extremely easy to use.
4. Asa Vea 5-1 Shaver
Not only does this shaver come with a cool 4 head attachment to shave, it also has a nose trimmer, beard trimmer and options to provide yourself with a good face scrub. It functions off the ergonomic design of fitting in your palm and it’s waterproof. Electric shavers tend to work best with a shave gel instead of a thicker foamy lather, but you can’t go wrong with this affordable device if shaving your head is all you want.
I also think it’s kind of cool that the shaving heads open up like The Predator's mouth. Not really a selling feature, but I take what I can get.
5. Braun Series 3 ProSkin
Not quite a foil shaver, but a hybrid that has “Micro Combs” that lift and pull hair into the cutting blades. Not only will this shaver mow through a beard like a professional groundskeeper at a golf course, it will handle any stubble hair that you throw at it.
It’s 100% waterproof, works with shaving cream and has a batter that will last up to 60 minutes and quick charge in 5. I sometimes leave my shaver uncharged and I think it makes a lot of sense to have an option that will allow me to drink my morning coffee while I wait for my shaver to charge.
6. Skull Shaver
No frills. No gimmicks. No bells. No whistles. This device is designed to do one thing and one thing only. Shave your damn head bald. It will completely remove any hair it comes into contact with the pivoting blades and do so with minimal skin irritation. While it works in a wet shave scenario, I’ve used this dry shaving to just get my head back to that smooth, freshly shaved, appearance on multiple occasions
Questions about shaving your head with an electric razor
Should I use a shaving cream?
It’s personal preference. If you’re a person that gets irritated skin on the back of your neck or other sensitive areas of your head, then I think using a gel solution will work well. I would try and avoid using a very rich lather as they can tend to clog the electric blades if not properly cleaned. What works best is having a shaving cup full of an alcohol cleaning solution that you can rest the cutting blades in after use.
Will this give me a close shave?
When people are looking for a “close” shave, what they usually are referencing is the closeness that a single or multi blade can provide. I will say that most electric shavers are going to give you a shave that feels smooth to the touch and in many cases almost as close as a razor. We’re talking about tiny amounts of hair that are almost imperceptible to your hands or anyone else that may be rubbing your head.
How long will the electric blades last?
Most of the electric razors that I have tested tend to recommend replacing the blades every year. If you follow a thorough cleaning or leave your blade heads in a cleaning solution after every use then you’ll find that you prolong the life of the blades and they will last much longer. Most of them are made from very durable metals that can extend the life well into 2 years.

Braun values: innovation, design and quality.
In the 1920s, Braun started as a small engineering shop and by the 1960s had become an internationally renowned brand for small electrical appliances – a development driven by technical innovation, long-lasting quality and outstanding design.
Ninety years on, Braun products have evolved in terms of both appearance and technology. One thing that hasn’t changed is that the brand is still synonymous with high quality and ergonomic design. And the brand’s core values of functionality, quality and aesthetics are still as relevant today as they were when Braun design was born in the 50s.

Skull Shaver is known for its highly effective and patented horizontal electric shaver body/handle, versus the traditional electric shaver vertical handle. The design of this handle allows one to reach the back of their head or leg, or other parts of their body, much more easily than ever before. Our shavers also feature large, round concave-shaped shaver head which can pivot, and they also consist of five rotary cutters with individual flex action. This allows the shaver to automatically adjust to every curve of one’s scalp, face or leg for a comfortable and smooth shave. No other electric shaver in the world can claim all these features!
I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the options I’ve outlined above, but if you’re looking for an electric razor to shave your head on a daily basis, I would strongly consider the Andis T-Liner. It’s a great tool and I use it on a daily basis. If this seems a bit too extreme for you then the Panasonic Shaver is also a more ergonomic option that comes with multiple attachments for many other uses.
